My teachers: Private Music Training. Gerard Schwartz (principal trumpeter of the New York Philharmonic), Mark Gould (principal trumpeter of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), and Louis Opalesky (Philadelphia Orchestra), Bobby Shew (jazz legend).
In the mid-1980s, I embarked on a journey that would take me to the pinnacle of the music industry. I founded Mileshigh Artist Management, a music management company that specialized in representing top jazz and pop talent. My skills in securing recording contracts, publishing deals, and world tours helped my clients achieve unprecedented success. Among the many talented artists I managed were Regina Carter, Rachel Z. Hakim, Alex Sipiagin, and Billy Porter, all of whom went on to become household names in the music industry.
One of the most exciting highlights of my career was producing an album for Columbia Records called Dance Beneath the Diamond Sky. Working with Vacca/Moran under the direction of renowned A&R and Head of Jazz, Dr. George Butler, was an honor and a privilege. During this time, I had the opportunity to rub shoulders with many iconic NYC jazz musicians who would later inspire me to create It Never Entered My Mind.
